Final Words

seagullYes, that’s it! Those simple techniques are more than enough for you to know and benefit immensely from. After all, it’s not the technique that matters but the stillness you achieve as a result. There are many techniques out there and you might try some from time to time to see what resonates with you, but keeping it simple is always going to be of greatest benefit.

I’d like to finish by mentioning that it’s also beneficial to engage in other activities that bring your attention into the present moment because, again, this moves your focus away from the usual “busy mind” and moves you into a state of “allowing” (which means lack of resistance). This is why physical exercise makes you feel wonderful (aside from sore muscles later!), or engaging in art, creative writing, playing an instrument, etc. This is the “middle ground” where you receive the benefits of releasing your usual thoughts and focusing in the moment, so these types of activities that engage you are definitely worthwhile and useful alongside more focused stillness.

Wishing you well on your journeys within!
